Merry Christmas Chiefs Fans
For over a month NFL pundits championed San Diego's Super Chargers as AFC West Champs. "They will absolutley catch Kansas City," PTI's Tony Kornheiser said two weeks ago. This foresight was echoed by just about every suit in the NFL universe but on Sunday, a different book was written: Kansas City Chiefs, AFC West Champs.
Kansas City demolished the "re-surgent" Titans Sunday inside a frigid Arrowhead Stadium. Tennesse showed up to this game with intentions of dancing and fighting, and they were quickly shown the door by a Chiefs team who is really starting to put it together in all phases of the game. What more could a Chiefs team ask for this Christmas season? A loss by San Diego to the lowely Bengals gave every Chiefs fan something extra in their stocking this Yuletide.
And now with one week to go, the Chiefs have but one thing left to play for: To destroy the Oakland Raiders. Thats right, the Chiefs must not rest their starters next week with a playoff appearence already sewn onto their jerseys. KC has a chance to go 8-0 at home for the first time since 2003 as well as cementing the 3 seed in the AFC Playoffs which would be quite beneficial. It will be interesting to see how this team handles the pressure of winning a division title after the worst three year stretch in team history.

Chiefs Down, Not Out, After Jolt in San Diego
The game was never in doubt. The Chiefs took the opening kickoff and promptly punted. San Diego scored...Then scored again. And that would be more than enough for San Diego's SuperChargers Sunday as a hapless Chiefs team stumbled their way to an inevetable defeat. Playing without quarterback Matt Cassel, the Croyle-led disaster managed all of 67 yards of total offense. Let that sink in for a moment. The Chiefs managed 67 TOTAL yards of offense during the course of an entire NFL football game. The Chargers had two scoring drives that went for more.
Probably the most troubling aspect of this loss is that San Diego has now pulled to within a game of the Chiefs in the western division standings with three games to go. Kansas City will likely have to win out to keep ties on the division title. It's going to come down to the final game of the season, and the Chiefs have the luxery of playing it's final two games in the friendly confines of Arrowhead Stadium. That may be all they need to squeak into the playoffs, but as we found out yesterday; this team is far from NFL royalty.

Sports Horn Interviews Mizzou quarterback Ashton Glaser
Recently, we were lucky enough to get an interview with Mizzou sophomore backup quarterback Ashton Glaser. Ashton was a 3 star recruit coming by way of Springdale, Arkansas and was highly touted coming out of high school but chose to come to Missouri and immediately wanted to compete for the starting job. For two years, he has been battling and working hard playing behind incumbant QB Blaine Gabbert.
Ashton, describe your experience at Mizzou so far.
My experience at MIZZOU so far has been made up of a lot of ups and downs. The downs were mainly when I first got here. I didn't really know what to expect when I got here and I didn't have much guidance seeing as we didn't have a returning starter to show me the ropes... Blaine was my big brother but we were all competing for the starting spot.. I wish I could go back and do it again BC I would have made the best of it.
What is your favorite place to eat in Columbia?
Favorite place to eat in Columbia... I really enjoy stadium bar and grill. Those burgers and chicken sandwiches are delicious! I also gotta give a good shout out to "George's" off lake of the woods exit. Great friends there and awesome food!
You came here as a freshman in 2009 fight for the starting QB job. Do you feel like you've gotten better as a player backing up Blaine Gabbert?
I absolutely have improved 100 percent since the time that I got here. To be honest last year I was praying they wouldn't put me in BC I wasn't ready. Now this year I come off the field wishing that I could have helped... I hate bein on the bench. I'm not used to it ans I never will be. Thats why I asked to be on kickoff this year to up my chances of seeing the field.
The Tigers are most likely headed to Arizona for a bowl trip. Do you feel like Missouri gets slighted by bigger bowls like the Cotton this year?
I think we deserve to be at a BCS bowl at large. I mean we did beat the big 12 champs didn't we?!? Haha either way we are determined to have an absolute blast and come back with an 11-2 season.
We all want to see #16 on the field at some point. When do we get to make this happen??
You see gerau on the field every week so what are you talkin about? Haha you guys will see me on the field one way or another. I'm workin my (tail) off to get out there BC, like I said, I hate being on the bench and I'm not used to it whatsoever.....

Sports Horn Interviews Mizzou Junior Receiver Jerrell Jackson!
Recently, we were lucky enough to snag an interview with Mizzou receiver Jerrell Jackson. He was kind enough to answer our questions and we appreciate that. Jerrell was a 2 star recruit from the Houston, TX area that has made a huge impact here at Mizzou being one of Blaine Gabbert's main targets. This year he suffered a broken hand before the season started that may have hampered him a little bit to start the year. Lucikly, he was soon back at full strength making big catches for the Tigers.
1. Jerrell, how much did your hand injury effect you this season if at all?
"Personally i think the injury made me catch better. It forced me to focus more on each pass. The only thing that gave me problems was trying to block. So my hand injury wasnt too much of a set back."
2. Do you ever feel like Mizzou gets slighted by the media and the bowl system?
"Yeah we're usually the team that gets over looked, but it just motivates us to play even harder to show everyone that we can play with the top teams in the nation."
3. Next year is your senior year, what can we expect from #29?
"A healthier 29. I plan on making next year my best year of my career. So expect more highlights from #29. #getmoney"
4. Will you be satisfied playing a Michigan or Iowa in a bowl game following a 10-2 season?
"Well we wont be satisfied because our goal was to play in a bcs bowl game. But if we would have went undefeated then we wouldnt have nothing to worry about right now. So we just have to take what we get and make the best of it."
5. How much help do you give to the freshman receivers and which ones stand out to you right now?
"Our freshman class is a very talented class that will be geat player for Mizzou. Im always working with the freshman and try to have an answer for every question. Personally they all stand out from the true freshman to the red shirt freshman. I will save the surprises for when they start playing."
